Housing Toolkit
Welcome to the Student-Law.co.uk Housing Toolkit.
Make use of the resources here and if and when you need some extra help, feel free to contact us.
- SAMPLE LETTERS
If you are in a dispute it is always best to get something in writing. Our sample letters are designed to give you an idea as to how to word your letters to your landlord, if your phone calls are going unanswered. Your letters should not be aggresive. Just try and make your point clear and understandable. - THE LAW It’s always nice to be able to back up an argument with a bit of law. Here are some of the bits of legislation we feel are going to be most relevant in a housing dispute.
- SMALL CLAIMS If you can’t resolve things amicably and if your claim is for less than £5,000 then you might need to head off to the Small Claims Court. Get the basics here.
- MODEL TENANCY AGREEMENT All being well this is what your agreement should look like. Don’t sign anything you’re not sure about and if you have a contract you don’t like the look of then give us a call to check it out first..
- LINKS Occasionally our website does not offer you all the the help you need so we’ve linked to a few keys sites that should point you in the right direction. If you do find content missing from Student-Law.co.uk then let us know so we can learn and improve.
We do not recommend you simply copy and paste our sample letters, but intend them to be used as a guide.
We can help by checking drafts of letters before you send them to your landlord so don’t hesitate to get in touch.
